Alpinia zerumbet 'variegated' (Variegated Shell Ginger). This is a very beautiful foliage plant and it has flowered the last two years in our garden. Inflorescence are a pendant of white and pink shell shaped flowers with red and yellow throats. Image taken February 1, 2000
