Piper auritum (Root
Beer Plant). This tropical plant is in the Peperomia family and
was given to me by my good friend and expert gardener, Mike Burnett.
Can grow to 15 feet in nine months, has large leaves to 18 inches,
that are soft to the touch, and a root beer aroma when any part
of the plant is crushed or bruised, making this a cool plant
for the hot tropics. Image taken February 7, 2000. |
