
Syagrus romanzoffiana (Queen Palm) This is a very unusual palm,
in the fact that the petioles are purple/green and the leaf
bases, at least the older ones turn almost black. Also noted
is a heavy fuzzy talcum that forms around the fibrous newly formed
leaf bases. Some say this is a "Silver" form of S.
romanzoffiana while other's say it is the "Black Queen".
What ever it is it is truly a beautiful palm!
